Beams have a variety of applications in scaffolding, including spans, temporary rooves, and structural reinforcement. All the beams supplied by Orchard Hire and Sales Ltd. are made in Britain and have been tested by independent engineers to comply with BS8118 & BS EN 1999-1-1. Out-of-stock sizes can be made to order.
Welded tubular aluminium beam with extruded oval cross-members. Depth 450mm. Beams can be joined end-to-end with separate spigots in conjunction with spigot clips or bolts. 48.3mm tube (4.47mm wall thickness) grade 6082 T6 aluminium.
Welded aluminium beam entirely in 48.4mm O.D. tube. Standard width 305mm (12") centre to centre. Overall depth 353mm. 48.3mm tube (4.47mm wall thickness) grade 6082 T6 aluminium. Bespoke sizes made to order.

Welded aluminium beam. Overall depth 750mm (2′ 5 17⁄32″). Centre to centre 702mm (2′ 3 41⁄64″). Weight 6.7kg/m (compared with steel at 13.3kg/m). Comes with spigots bolted in. Four extra bolts or spigot clips required to join each pair of beams end-to-end.
For lattice beam. chromate-passivated steel. Drilled through in six places to accomodate spigot clips for fastening the spigots inside the beams.
With the holes in the beam and spigot lined up, these latch pins clip the spigot in place. Zinc plated steel.
Welded aluminium. Joins beams together at a pitch of 15° using spigot connectors. Ridge pieces for temporary roofs at other pitches can be made to order. Ridge pieces are available for 450mm lattice beams and 750mm diamond or X-beams.
